In a new piece written by the Founding Director of the Georgetown Entrepreneurship Initiative, Professor Jeff Reid reflects upon his decade of teaching and leading entrepreneurship at Georgetown. Professor Reid has seen a transformation and growth of entrepreneurship in higher education, changing from a subset of a discipline to an integral, interdisciplinary pillar for most institutions. But what does the future hold? Professor Reid stresses a “long-term view” of entrepreneurship in higher education, one which emphasizes and embodies the values, thinking, and action of entrepreneurs. Here, entrepreneurship can- and should- be the vehicle by which colleges and universities learn and adapt to the challenges of the future.
