Georgetown Entrepreneurship Challenge

The Georgetown Entrepreneurship Challenge allows students to pitch your new venture idea to an expert panel of experienced entrepreneurs and business leaders.  Gain valuable feedback on your idea, as well as the opportunity to meet with prospective mentors and investors. The top 12 teams, including 6 undergrad and 6 graduate teams, will advance to the Georgetown Entrepreneurship Challenge Finals and Celebration on April 8, 2019. Thanks to Transfotech, Ray Peloso, Robert Siedler, the Doucas family, the Lo family, and Transfotech, students will compete for prizes totaling $70,000. All students from any Georgetown graduate or undergraduate degree program may apply to pitch at the preliminary events in March and April.

Preliminary Round Details

Undergrad students get the opportunity to deliver a 5 minute pitch to two unique panels of judges in private classroom setting, and graduate students will deliver a 5 minute pitch to a panel of judges at public events in their respective division. Students are eligible to enter individually or in teams of up to 4 people, and ideas of any stage from ideation to a currently operating startups are welcome to pitch.

Judging Criteria for pitches includes:

  • Feasibility
  • Team
  • Incorporation of Georgetown’s Jesuit Values
  • Overall Presentation

Graduate SCS: March 13, 6-8pm in SCS Auditorium
Graduate SFS: March 14, 6-8pm in ICC 301 McGhee Library
MBA: March 26, 5-7pm in Lohrfink Auditorium
Medical Campus: March 28, 6-9pm in ICC Auditorium
Undergrad Division: April 1-3, 6-9pm in MSB Classrooms
Graduate School Wildcard: April 4, 6-9pm in MSB Classrooms

Finals and Celebration: April 8, 5-9pm in HFSC

A total of 12 teams (6 undergraduate and 6 graduate) will advance to present at our annual Georgetown Entrepreneurship Challenge Finals and Celebration on  April 8th in the Healey Family Student Center (HFSC) for over $35,000 in prizes.
