Georgetown Entrepreneurship Challenge Guidelines & Eligibility
GUIDELINES: The Georgetown Entrepreneurship Challenge encourages students and aspiring entrepreneurs from across Georgetown University to share their entrepreneurial ventures, business ideas, or social enterprises with our community. Register on our GEC page to compete in the challenge event for your school.
Students will get 5 minutes to pitch their ideas to our panels of judge followed by 3-5 minutes of Q&A with the judges. Pitches will be judged based on feasibility, team, incorporation of Georgetown values, and overall presentation. All Georgetown students are eligible to participate.
The winning teams will advance, March Madness-style, to the Georgetown Entrepreneurship Challenge Finals on April 7, 2020 to compete for $35,000 in prizes!
ELIGIBILITY: All current Georgetown University undergraduate and graduate students are invited to pitch at the Georgetown Entrepreneurship Challenge. Students must pitch an idea that has not been pitched at a previous Georgetown Entrepreneurship Challenge or Bark Tank event. However, ideas pitched at Rocket Pitch, Ventures & Values, or other pitch competitions are welcome.
This competition is designed to be for early/idea-stage companies. Teams cannot have raised $50,000 or more in financing or earned $50,000 or more in revenue. Also, teams must not have been incorporated more than a year earlier than their intended preliminary competition.
Applicants must also give Georgetown Entrepreneurship permission to video record any pitch competition in which they participate and consent to the proliferation of that recording on social media, YouTube, the Georgetown Entrepreneurship website, and other digital media. Moreover, you will allow the McDonough School of Business and Georgetown Entrepreneurship to use your company name & logo, and your likeness, as part of our marketing materials (announcing the program, etc.)
