Before You Reach Out
Do I need a business idea to meet with a mentor?
No. Plenty of conversations start with "I think I might want to start something" or "how did you get into this?" Advisors are here for the curious as much as for founders with a deck.
How do I meet with a Venture Advisor?
Through Venture Development. Complete the intake form and the Georgetown Entrepreneurship team will match you with an advisor based on where your venture is and what you need. You can ask for a specific advisor by name in the form. For a quick, no-appointment conversation, come to Entrepreneurship Office Hours instead.
Is there a cost or a limit on how many mentors I can talk to?
No cost, and no fixed limit. Be considerate of mentors' time: come prepared, keep to the time you asked for, and follow up with a thank you.
Can alumni use the directory?
Yes. Venture Advisors meet with alumni as well as current students, faculty, and staff.
How do I become a mentor?

Venture Advisors
Venture Advisors support the mission of the Georgetown Entrepreneurship Initiative by providing expertise, advice, mentoring, coaching, and other assistance to students, faculty, alumni, and administrators on campus or at the Georgetown Venture Lab throughout the semester. Venture Advisors also act as ambassadors for Georgetown University and the Entrepreneurship Initiative, helping us to expand our base of contacts and reputation in the campus and business community by engaging their own professional networks.
