Steve Taylor is the CEO and co-founder of EVPowerInsights, a company accelerating EV charging infrastructure with digital tools, community, and advisory services to help founders, executives, investors, and policymakers make smarter decisions.
Steve is a founder and 3x COO with experience building, scaling, and exiting high-growth, category-defining companies. A former Naval Flight Officer and management consultant, Steve joined Lyft in 2015 as one of its first General Managers. Over four years, the company grew from 200 to 5,500 employees, during which he led teams across three major roles, overseeing a $500M+ P&L in Lyft’s most regulated, competitive, and high-utilization markets, including New York and the Mid-Atlantic. In 2020, as COO of Fixt, he guided the company through a successful acquisition by Assurant (NYSE: AIZ). In 2021, he founded HipTrain, a global marketplace providing live, 1-on-1 consumer wellness services, which he sold to FORME (NASDAQ: TRNR) in 2022.
Before his business career, Steve served in the U.S. Navy for nine years as a Naval Flight Officer. He was forward deployed to Atsugi, Japan, with deployments to the Western Pacific, South China Sea, and Iraq, and his final tour was at the White House. Steve earned a B.S. in Political Science from the U.S. Naval Academy and a Master of Policy Management (MPM) from Georgetown University.
