‘Roundtable Discussion: Is Africa The Next Tech Superpower’

April 23 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

On the margins of the World Bank/IMF Spring Meetings happening in Washington next week, we will host an exciting Roundtable Discussion at MSB, in partnership with SFS African Studies, on April 23 at 1 PM in Fisher Colloquium on one of the key topics being hotly debated in business and policy circles:  Africa’s rising place in the Global Startup Revolution under way around the world.

As the fastest growing region for Venture Capital over the past five years, and a continent that will represent 1/2 of the global labor force and 1/3 of the world’s youth by 2050, Africa is a continent that is teeming with innovation and entrepreneurship.  And the world is paying attention.  And Georgetown is too.

Join us for an insightful discussion with a fantastic lineup of key experts and practitioners:  Jeff Reid, Director of Georgetown Entrepreneurship, Dr. Houda Ghozzi, CEO of Open Startup International in Tunisia who works closely with various US universities on pan-African entrepreneurship, and Dumi Mabhena, an African startup co-founder and an MBA Hoya.
