This panel at Georgetown’s 2024 Venture in the Capital Conference, moderated by Drew Peterson (MSB’25) and Devon Pasieka (MSB’25), featured Brian Quintenz (MBA’09) of a16z crypto, Barrett Karr of Silver Lake, Arun Gupta of the NobleReach Foundation and Jordan Coleman, chief legal and policy officer at Kodiak Robotics and a Georgetown business school alumnus.
Quintenz said investors in Washington are really representing entrepreneurs, who need clear regulatory road maps to build. Karr explained how policy shapes diligence and portfolio support at a private equity firm. Gupta, who teaches at Georgetown, described the cultural gap between innovators and government that NobleReach works to close. Coleman said emerging industries need rules that can evolve with the technology and enough certainty for investors, and urged companies not to wait for government, describing how Kodiak worked with a community college to train technicians for autonomous trucks.
