A Conversation with Adam Fisher at Venture in the Capital 2025

Adam Fisher, a partner at Bessemer Venture Partners and a graduate of Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service, joined the 2025 Venture in the Capital virtual series in a conversation moderated by Drew Peterson (MSB’25). Fisher established Bessemer’s Israel office and has invested in companies including Wix and Fiverr.

Fisher said he came to Georgetown planning a career in diplomacy or academia, but the international business diplomacy program and a junior year in Jerusalem, where he interned at a venture fund, set his path. He explained how early traffic and conversion data convinced him to back Fiverr, how a founding team’s insight into small business payments led to another investment, and why Israel’s military technology units shape its startup culture. He warned that parts of the AI market show signs of a hype cycle, and encouraged founders to keep an interest outside work that helps them disconnect.
