Opelo Matome

Opelo Matome joins the Leonsis Venture Lab as Associate Director with a career built at the intersection of strategy & operations, startups, and education. Her experience spans venture acceleration, growth strategy consulting, and institutional data analysis giving her an ability to work effectively with founders, investors, and operators alike. She has contributed to the growth of startups across multiple continents, launched revenue generating programs and talent marketplaces, and built systems that help teams move faster and make smarter decisions.

At the Venture Lab, she is especially excited to help founders grow and navigate the murky waters of early stage building, create a thriving community, and facilitate connections between investors, alumni, founders, and students.

Opelo holds an MBA from Oxford University’s Saïd Business School, an MEd from Harvard University, and a BA in Economics from Yale.
