At Georgetown’s 2026 Venture in the Capital Summit, Colin Dhaliwal (MSB’27) moderated a panel on the “deployment gap,” the space between what technology can do and what society is able to put into use. Panelists were Victoria Virasingh of the NobleReach Foundation, Sam Gray of Second Front Systems and Billy Nolen of Archer Aviation, a former acting administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration.
Virasingh argued that the deeper gap is knowing the right questions to ask, and that more people should move between Silicon Valley, government and academia to build trust across institutions. Gray noted that most federal rules are designed to protect taxpayer dollars rather than for speed and scale, and urged students to “go find mission,” even in unglamorous work. Nolen described how aviation regulators work from industry consensus and called on talented young people to serve in government.
