American Dynamism with Katherine Boyle at Venture in the Capital 2024

Katherine Boyle, a general partner at Andreessen Horowitz and a Georgetown graduate who studied government and political philosophy, joined Phoebe Martin (MSB’24) virtually for a conversation at Georgetown’s 2024 Venture in the Capital Conference.

Boyle traced her path from Georgetown, where she was at the university from 2004 through 2008, to reporting at The Washington Post and then to Silicon Valley in 2014. She credited her Jesuit education with a lifelong “quest for truth” and a sense of public service, and explained American dynamism as investing in companies that serve the national interest, including defense, aerospace, public safety, housing and education. She described the coordination challenges small companies face when selling to government against large incumbents, and said she is more optimistic than five years ago because so many founders and technologists are entering the field.
