She earned an AAS degree in fashion marketing at the Parsons School of Design and a BComm degree with honors in finance from Dalhousie University in Canada. \nAbout John D. Howard \nJohn D. Howard is a co-CEO of Irving Place Capital and Celebrands and has more than 35 years of private equity investing experience in the consumer products and retail industries. Prior to founding Irving Place Capital (which began as the Bear Stearns Merchant Banking Group in 1997)\, he was the co-CEO of Vestar Capital Partners\, a private investment firm specializing in management buyouts. Previously\, Howard was a senior vice president and partner of Wesray Capital Corporation\, one of the foremost private equity sponsors and a pioneer in the leveraged buyout business.

This event will be held in-person\, with the option to livestream as well. \nAligning with the Jesuit values of Georgetown University\, the Leonsis Family Entrepreneurship Prize honors and supports Georgetown students who have launched or are preparing to launch new business ventures that will address problems in the world around them. Each year\, teams or individuals compete to win an amount determined from the annual limit of $100\,000. Ultimately\, the Leonsis Family Entrepreneurship Prize builds awareness around the innovation and accomplishments of Georgetown’s entrepreneurs and strengthens the university’s reputation as a place where ambitious students can turn their passions into entrepreneurial ventures. DESCRIPTION:The Georgetown Social Innovation Lab is an annual pitch competition held at Georgetown University over the course of a weekend. GSIL gathers both graduate and undergraduate students to form teams and come up with innovative solutions to a pressing global problem.
